Chargers Set for 3C2A Swim & Dive Finals at Orange Coast College
Cypress sees 5 swimmers qualify for the state championship meet.
COSTA MESA, CA - Cypress College men's swim and dive is set to compete at the 3C2A State Championships this week at Orange Coast College, with the Chargers sending a strong group of qualifiers across both swimming and diving events.
Leading the way in the diving competition is sophomore Isaiah Bridgewaters, who enters the 1-meter dive seeded sixth in the state after a strong postseason showing. Fellow diver Aidan Sarreal will compete in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events, entering as the No. 12 seed in 1-meter and No. 15 in 3-meter competition .
In the pool, distance standout Eoin Tannehill will be one of Cypress' top contenders, qualifying in three individual events. Tannehill enters the 1650-yard freestyle as the fifth seed, the highest men's swimming seed for Cypress, while also qualifying in the 400-yard IM as the No. 8 seed and the 200-yard butterfly as the No. 10 seed.
Gio Demuro adds sprint and backstroke depth for the Chargers, qualifying in both the 100-yard backstroke (14th seed) and the 100-yard freestyle (13th seed). Luke Edmundson joins Tannehill in the distance events with a berth in the 1650-yard freestyle, entering as the No. 16 seed, while Noah Brummitt Rodriguez qualified in the 100-yard freestyle as the No. 17 seed .
With representation across distance, sprint, butterfly, backstroke, IM, and diving events, the Chargers will look to finish the season strong against the top competitors from across California.
