Cypress Men Capture Team Title at Pasadena Invitational
The Chargers made a statement at ELAC, capturing the team title behind a dominant performance led by Sean Eoin Tannehill.
MONTEREY PARK, CA - Cypress College's men's swim and dive team claimed the team title at the Pasadena Invitational, finishing with 793 points over three days of competition in Pasadena. The Chargers outpaced Diablo Valley College (764.5) and El Camino College (561) to secure the championship.
Leading the way for Cypress was Sean Eoin Tannehill, who delivered one of the top performances of the meet. Tannehill won the men's 1650-yard freestyle (Event 32) with a time of 16:58.12, helping anchor the Chargers' first-place finish. Over the course of the invitational, he earned one gold medal and two silver medals, totaling 66 points.
The Chargers saw strong contributions across the board, including a first-place finish from River Nerhus in the biathlon with a time of 2:24.50, well ahead of the runner-up mark of 2:57.65. Noah Brummitt added a runner-up finish in the 50-yard freestyle, touching in 21.41, just behind the winning time of 21.01. In relay action, Gio Demuro, Aiden Xavier, Isaiah Bridgewaters, and Brummitt combined for a second-place finish in the 400-yard medley relay.
