Cypress Men’s Golf Extends Strong Run with Three Consecutive Runner-Up Finishes
Orange Empire Conference Tournament Up Next
BERMUDA DUNES, CA - Cypress College Men's Golf team finished second Monday at Bermuda Dunes Country Club, posting a team score of 295 at Bermuda Dunes and trailing only College of the Desert, which won the event at 293. Victor Valley followed closely in third at 296, leaving the Chargers two strokes off the top spot and one stroke clear of third place.
Ethan Nash led Cypress with a 70, the lowest individual round listed among the Chargers. Ian Shahwan added a 74, James Luther shot 75, Teegan Cole carded a 76 and Aden Henry finished with a 79. Those rounds gave Cypress another strong team performance in a tightly packed finish near the top of the standings.
For Cypress, the result continued a consistent late-season run. The Chargers' second-place showing marked their third consecutive runner-up finish, a sign of steady form heading into the postseason even if Monday's meet ended just short of a conference victory. Nash's 70 stood out as the top individual effort for Cypress, while the middle of the lineup helped keep the team in contention with Shahwan, Luther and Cole all turning in counting scores in the mid-70s.
UP NEXT: Cypress is now focused on the upcoming OEC Tournament set for Monday, April 27, at Apple Valley.
