Flores and Riddle Head to SoCal Regionals to Represent Chargers
El Camino College Hosts SoCal Pairs Regionals
TORRANCE, CA – Cypress College Beach Volleyball (11-10, 8-6 OEC) will be represented in postseason play as the Chargers' No. 1 pair of Keilyn Flores and Addison Riddle compete at the 3C2A Southern California Pairs Regionals on May 1-2 at El Camino College.
Flores and Riddle enter the tournament as the Orange Empire Conference No. 6 seed and are slotted No. 24 overall in the 32-team regional bracket. In the opening round, the Charger duo will face No. 9 seeded Sadie Town and Eden Lorin of Santa Monica College. The matchup is a familiar one, as the two pairs met earlier this season in a tightly contested battle that went the distance to three sets.
The Cypress pair has been one of the top tandems in conference play all season, earning First Team All-OEC honors for their consistent performance at the top flight. Their success helped lead the Chargers throughout the spring and positioned them for a spot in one of the most competitive postseason fields in the state.
At the recent OEC Pairs Championships, Flores and Riddle advanced to the final day of competition. After falling in the quarterfinals to Saddleback, the pair responded with a two-set victory over Riverside before ultimately finishing sixth overall following a loss to Orange Coast.
Cypress also saw strong representation from Dahlia Gonzalez and Faith Martin, who earned Second Team All-OEC recognition. Gonzalez and Martin competed into the final day of the OEC Championships and finished 13th overall after a hard-fought three-set match against Golden West.
